Webinar: Duty of decommissioning from an European and international perspective

On the 14th of June The Rich North Sea and ReViFES organised our sixth webinar about nature development on the North Sea. Subject of the webinar was the duty of decommissioning. With special focus on the European and international perspective.

Aim of the webinar was to start a conversation about the duty of decommissioning to look at the subject from a European and international perspective. We invited two renowned speakers on the topic. Alex Oude Elferink, director of the Netherlands Institute for the Law of the Sea told us all about international law regarding the duty of decommissioning. Alexander Vandenberghe, sustainability manager at WindEurope dove deeper into the developments of offshore wind in Europe and the dilemma’s of operators with regard to decommissioning.
